While there are many pressing matters that ought to be attracting a systems approach, like sustainability, poverty and climate change, the Vanguard Method was not developed in such ‘larger’ system environments.
Clearly, as Deming argued in ‘The New Economics’, if our organisations were less wasteful, more productive and healthier places to work this would make a significant contribution to economic and social progress.
